    Here at mcgarrybowen, we're currently hiring for a Strategy Director - B2B.

    Responsibilities

    Swirl mcgarrybowen is seeking a B2B Strategy Director responsible for strategic leadership across our growing B2B practice. The ideal candidate has deep experience in B2B marketing, especially as it relates to B2B technology. It is critical the candidate understand the nuances of the B2B decision-maker and decision-making process; can quickly grasp complex technologies and communicate them simply to other members of the team; and has the demonstrated ability to orchestrate and manage strategic deliverables in the context of intricate and highly data-driven campaigns.
     
    The position requires considerable experience in either an agency or client-side planning/strategy/innovation role working on B2B campaigns (some degree of B2B technology experience is requisite); high levels of resourcefulness, initiative, inventiveness, entrepreneurial zeal; and a firm grasp on the art of client service. The position will work closely with Executive Leadership and our Communication Strategy Director to form our overarching strategic approach, while working alongside Account, Creative, Media, Data and Technology leads to help deliver on the business needs of our growing roster of B2B clients spanning from start-ups to global market leaders.
     
    The B2B Strategy Director will report to and assist the lead Director of Strategy in managing the performance and growth of the Strategy team and will play a key role in nurturing and developing key existing and new business clients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ability to ingest and comprehend exceptionally complex B2B technologies and products, combined with an equally outstanding ability to translate and communicate those technologies to the broader team in a simple and understandable fashion
    • Contribute the highest quality of strategic thinking against client needs, agency learning and thought-leadership opportunities across the industry
    • Confidence guiding and executing the entirety of the business, brand and creative portions of the strategic process, from kickoff to deliverable, across a span of projects ranging from campaigns to high-level innovation initiatives
    • The ability to closely collaborate with the Communication Strategy Director and Executive Leadership to form the foundation of our strategic POV and approach to B2B client needs
    • Experience managing qual/quant research projects, from initial recognition of need & methodology to vendor management, executional oversight and interpretation of output/reports in the context of client business needs

    Qualifications

    • 7–10 years of planning/strategy/innovation experience in an agency environment or B2B client-side experience in a comparable discipline (some degree of B2B technology experience is requisite)
    • Familiarity with data-driven marketing, including the ability to understand and interpret data (with the aid of our data-driven team), its impact on strategy and the ability to amend / optimize an approach based on observed results
    • Rigor in understanding, defining and providing clarity to clients’ strategic needs and challenges, including frequent engagement with senior-level clients
    • Understanding of 3rd-party & syndicated research tools & vendors, with the ability to identify, scope and propose the right mix of tools to meet agency and client needs
    • Superior writing and vocabulary skills with a portfolio of work to prove these skills have been honed across an array of briefs and strategic positioning documents
    • Strong command of MS Office Suite, especially in PowerPoint; Mac/PC fluency required
